Laura Adams

Genre

Abstract/Contemporary, Animals

Laura W. Adams is a collage artist whose richly layered work explores the forests, wildlife, wildflowers, and birdlife of the natural world. Inspired by her experiences as an avid birder and hiker, Adams captures the emotional and spiritual connection she feels in nature through her intricate, dimensional compositions.

Her collages are crafted from painted, textured, and patterned papers—often incorporating found natural elements—and built up in ten or more layers using acrylic medium to create a striking three-dimensional effect.

Adams has exhibited widely in galleries and juried shows across the U.S., with works held in private and corporate collections internationally. In 2016, she expanded her artistic footprint by founding Brickworks Gallery on Atlanta’s Eastside Trail, dedicated to contemporary art inspired by nature.

Originally trained in law, Adams earned her J.D. from Emory University after completing a B.A. in Political Science at the University of South Carolina. She practiced corporate litigation for six years before leaving law to fully embrace her creative path. Over the past two decades, Adams has developed her unique collage technique and established herself as a dedicated, professional artist.
